Kindergarten's chyrsalides are still mostly lime-green. With cooler temperatures in the classroom over the weekend, we may not see additional changes in our rearing boxes until Monday or Tuesday.
As a kindergarten class, we are thinking out of the box a bit these days. Last week we joined Monarch Watch's Monarchs in Space project and along with crew of the STS-129 Mission to the International Space Station, we are raising monarch caterpillars and learning more about the metamorphosis of the caterpillar to butterfly.
Thanks to the educational initiatives of our tireless, passionate friends at Monarch Watch who made this project possible, we continue to be inspired by the wonder of wings on earth and beyond.
